Habituation
By: Aaliyah Farris
Habituation is an organisms lack of response to something. This response is something that is learned. Once you have become accustomed to the stimulus (sound, actions, scents etc), you learn to ignore it. For example, when a bird first encounters a scarecrow, it becomes scared. Eventually the bird grows use to the scarecrow and basically ignores it. This helps an animal survive by preparing it for things and get used to it.

Courtship Dances
Courtship dances are a form of communication. Courtship dances allow members of the same species to recognize each other and find a mate. These dances are usually performed by the male. The dancing of birds of paradise is an example of this. Courtship dances help animals survive by allowing them to find a mate and reproduce.
