What is a Foster Care Social Worker?

A social worker that works with the foster system is someone who workers especially with DCFS. A social worker that works with foster care children have to make sure that the family that is getting that child, they have to be caring and loving, and to make sure that they are not taking them for other reasons.

What do you do at the job?

As a social worker in the foster care system you are never bored. There is always something you have to do. One of the things you have to do after you get a child into a new family is check up on them. You always have to be suspicious when you put a child in to a new home. Along the same lines as that you always have to care for someone like its your own child.

How much do they get paid?

Depending on which field of foster social work you want to be in it varies from $55,000 a year to $540,000 a year. The lower rate is just a basic social worker and the other one owns its own foster care company.
