APRES Dolphins SWIM-April '21

An Extraordinary Place to Learn

A Message from Principal Wilson

Greetings Dolphin Families,

We are approaching the final 6-weeks of the school year with our extraordinary dolphin scholars. While this year has been unique in many ways, one thing is consistent, our scholars continue to strive for excellence and thrive despite their academic setting and the challenges many have faced this school year. Our dolphins are resilient and because of you, their parents and support system, in partnership with teachers and our administrative team, they have survived what is sure to be one of the most unpredictable school years they will face. As we wind down this year, I want to assure you that our team is committed to continuing to provide high levels of instruction to your scholar, remaining diligent in providing support to fill academic gaps, and focusing on preparing each scholar for next school year.

The Georgia Milestones Assessment is quickly approaching. Scholars in grades 3, 4 and 5 who have elected to take the assessment will begin testing on April 27, 2021, and testing will conclude on May 7, 2021. Students who are in Remote Learning will have asynchronous lessons during the testing sessions. Live lessons will resume each day after the testing session is complete.

We are currently planning our end of the year celebrations. We recognize that many adults have received vaccines and we have been intentional about our COVID-19 protocols. However, we have decided that it will be best to hold virtual end of the year celebrations considering that the potential for COVID transmission is still present. Our virtual celebration schedule is below and you will receive direct communication for your classroom teacher regarding the individual class programs, attire and participation expectations.
