Student Spotlight: Daniel Summers

Last week, the 6th grade orchestra performed "Sahara Crossing" outside, under the direction of their 8th grade TA, Daniel Summers! Daniel chose the piece from Ms. Whitmore's library and taught it to the class himself with very little guidance. The performance was short and sweet, but a wonderful way to end the year!

Kuna VFW Memorial Day Ceremony

The KMS choirs had the honor of being asked to sing the National Anthem at the Kuna VFW Memorial Day Ceremony. On a very cold, rainy and windy day off from school, the students did a great job and we are very honored to have been asked to perform.

Also on Memorial Day, a few students from KMS participated in the "Taps Across America" movement. Students participated by playing "Taps" at 3:00pm Memorial Day in their time zone. Students performed in their bedrooms, standing on their porches and out in the fields. We are very proud of our KMS Taps players! Included is a video of Emma Yoshikane playing Taps on her clarinet in honor of those that have fought for our freedoms and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Alpaca Visit

Last week, the Simper family brought their Alpacas to school! Mrs. Orr's ERR class loved getting to visit and pet the furry friends. The Simpers were thanked for bringing their llamas.

Escape Room

The 6th and 7th grade bands did an "Escape the Band room" activity where they had to solve musical clues to open locks and get out of the bandroom! They had to prove knowledge of note reading, professional musicians and musical symbols to find the codes they needed. The kids did a great job escaping!
