Islanders Committed is the youth committee of the Middletown Prevention Coalition. Their mission is to promote health and wellness in their school and to create a space where students can be their best selves. Students can find out about upcoming meetings by listening to the announcements, looking for posters in the hall, or check with Ms. Lisa, the advisor, located in the back of the gym, across from Mr. Almeida's office. Lisa is originally from Potsdam NY and has been a middle and high school health teacher for the past 15 years. She is very excited to be back in a school environment working with middle school students and getting more familiar with Middletown. Islanders Committed Movie Night for High School Students
Islanders Committed invites Middletown High School students to attend a Halloween Movie Night on Friday, October 22 from 6-9 PM. This is event is free for MHS students and of course, we will have FOOD! Students will have the chance to vote on the movie in school. Sunday, October 24th - NAMI Walks Your Way!
Join NAMIWalks Your Way to support mental health for all! This is an in-person event in Providence, RI and/or a virtual experience, united with NAMIWalks across the country. NAMIWalks Your Way means putting one foot in front of the other, either actually or virtually. Participants get to use their creativity, with the main rule that we continue to advance towards our goal by leaps and bounds. For more information or to register click here.
