Kindergarten and 1st Grade Registration for 2020-2021
Children who will be five years old on or before September 1 of the current year must enroll in public or private kindergarten unless the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver (see Kindergarten Non-Attendance Form at the enrollment information at the GCS website link below). Any child who will be six years old on or before September 1 of the current year must enroll in first grade. Current kindergarten students already enrolled at Fork Shoals do NOT have to register.
Parents wishing to enroll new students for the 2020-21 school year should visit the enrollment information at the GCS website. Print and complete the enrollment forms and scan or photograph the required documentation and email to Lisa Thompson, attendance clerk, at lthompso@greenville.k12.sc.us.
The Parent Enrollment Information Sheet found in the link for enrollment information indicates the forms and documentation that is needed. Please also remember the following additional forms:
Bus Tag Application for kindergarten and first-grade students
Bus Tag Application for kindergarten and first-grade--Spanish
Early Childhood Prior Childcare-5K Students ONLY
If you need further information about the registration directions, please call 355-5000 and leave a message and the appropriate person will contact you.
Updates from our PTA
- If you can signed up for the Freedom Rock and were unable to paint, contact PTA.
- Any money that you collected for the Funraiser Tickets (raffle tickets) should be given back to who you sold them to. We will not be having the raffle this year.
- Due to the nature of collecting for the Silent Auction baskets and that they were already put together prior to our closing, these baskets will be used for next year's carnival. If you have concerns about this, please contact our PTA. By having the items already, it will definitely help us for next year.
- Sponsors are being contacted by PTA individually.
- Some parents had ordered school t-shirts. These will be at the school for pick up when items are picked up for students.
Again, thank you for all of your support and contact us if you have questions or concerns. Thank you for supporting Fork Shoals!

Prisma MyChart Access
In an effort to increase access to virtual healthcare options for students and families during the current COVID-19 crisis, Greenville County Schools has opened access to telehealth services with Prisma Healthcare on student Chromebooks. Students and families will be able to access telehealth services using MDLive.com through Prisma Health’s MyChart portal (https://mychart.ghs.org/mychart/Authentication/Login?) from now through the end of the school year, or whenever students return their Chromebooks. We will share this information with parents as soon as all instructions are finalized. We are requesting that anyone using GCS WiFi for a health-related concern utilize a site where food is not being served and remain in their vehicle.

Meals During School Closure
To ensure the students of Greenville County schools continue to receive healthy and nutritious meals during the time schools are closed in response to COVID-19, Greenville County Schools will be providing breakfasts and lunches free of charge to anyone 18 and younger at 66 different locations around our district including schools and other locations Monday through Friday. This program will begin Monday, March 16.
Meals will be prepared in our school facilities by trained Food and Nutrition Services Staff. All existing DHEC and FDA approved procedures for meal prep, storage, service, and sanitation will be observed.
