Fourth Grade Language Arts, Social Studies
**Please note: Students filling out their monthly Reading calendars indicating they are reading 16 times per month for 25 minutes should be taking AR tests regularly and meeting their quarterly AR goals.**
Social Studies: Students have begun their study of American colonization with a look at the thirteen original colonies.
Fourth Grade Math, Science
Fourth grade has been working on adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals over the last couple of weeks. They will work on this unit much more extensively in fifth grade, so on Monday we will be moving on to our Geometry unit.
Please make sure students are working on Math homework every night (Mon-Thurs). It is very important for them to go home and continue to practice the skill that we worked on in class. Students should also be practicing Math facts on Xtramath.com for at least 5 minutes at a time. March calendars will be due on April 1st. I have told all of the students that when they finish their Xtra Math program (through division), AND they pass all of their timed multiplication tests (through the 12s), they will NOT have to complete the Xtra Math calendars for the rest of the year.
