Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Yesterday, DMS kicked off our second year as a No Place for Hate school. All grade levels attended the highly educational assemblies on anti-bullying. On Tuesday, students will sign proclamations supporting our anti-bullying stance at Duluth Middle School. You will see these posters hanging around our school. We want our students to be able to report bullying behavior and to not be bystanders if they see or experience this kind of behavior.
At this point, your students have had at least a couple of assessments and some major grades. AS a parent, you should be checking the portal daily to help them set goals and chart their progress. Although Early Release conferences are not until later in the month, it’s not too early to request a conference if you have a concern about your child’s progress thus far. We want to start early to set them up for success. Remember, help sessions on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:20 a.m. are one major intervention for students who need some extra support.
I know we all are looking forward to a long Labor Day weekend as we say good-bye to Summer and come back ready to settle in to school. Enjoy your time with family and friends and be safe!
