Off the Beaten Path Challenge - NEW!
October - Favorite Places Challenge
Are you ready for our next Off the Beaten Path Challenge?! This one should be easy, peasy! 4-Hers will identify a favorite place in Nebraska and take photos at that location. It could be a favorite restaurant that all your family members worked at, a hometown town square, a park, a local tourism spot. It could be the Husker football stadium, a backyard, or a school that is important to your family, the Nebraska State Fair, a family farm, or historical site, etc. So many choices!
Once you have photos taken, look up the GPS coordinates for that site/location. Go to Google maps, touch the blue location dot to turn it into a red pin, scroll down and look for the coordinates. There are many online videos that will help you with learning more about latitude and longitude. Complete this challenge by adding photo evidence of your favorite place here, padlet.com/hallcounty4h/hsrreay3wl1uljx7, by October 31st. Next, create a poster using your photos, the coordinates, and a local area map!
Favorite Places Exhibit
- Geospacial, Favorite Places (880-002). Identify a favorite place in Nebraska and create a poster (14 inch X 22 inch). Exhibit should include latitude and longitude, digital pictures, and a local area map.
