One Month Down!
The first month has seen some changes but we have settled in now for the year! The staff and students are working very hard already to learn routines and expectations! We are very proud of the things happening here at Snowshoe. We appreciate all of your support, and the support of our amazing PTA.
There are some exciting things happening within the next few weeks so keep on scrolling down to read all about them. Our website is constantly being updated and Facebook is also regularly updated with events.
If you are interested in volunteering, please give us a call! We love our volunteers and teachers can always use a helping hand. No one will be turned away for wanting to help. Thanks again for supporting our efforts in teaching and learning, and thank you for being our partner in educating your child!

Parents Right to Know
Dear School Parent,
Each year districts and schools are required to provide information to parents as well as opportunities for them to be involved in the educational decisions that affect their children. Under ESEA, you have the right to ask for the following information about each of your child's classroom teachers and paraprofessionals:
- Whether the State of Alaska has licensed or qualified the teacher for the grades he/she teaches.
- Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency permit or other provisional status.
- The teacher's college major, whether they have advanced degrees and if so what degrees.
- Whether instructional aides or paraprofessionals provide services to your child and if so what are their qualifications.
- The teachers' and/or instructional aides' or similar paraprofessionals' highly qualified status as defined by the ESEA.
If you would like specific information, please contact our school and speak with Mrs. Ellsworth at 352-9500 or Amy Iverson, ESEA Coordinator, at 746-9253.
