Meet Danelle Garza

About Mrs. Garza
Danelle Garza, a native of McAllen, TX is currently living in Virginia Beach, VA with her husband, who is in the U.S. Navy and their 2.5 year old son, Carlo. Danelle is studying to be a school librarian at Old Dominion University. She grew up in schools with both of her parents being educators. This led her to a career in teaching. Danelle has taught special education students as well as 6th grade English, social studies and language arts. She loves teaching and hopes to inspire struggling, reluctant, and non-readers to love reading as a librarian. In this position, she plans to promote books with a book of the month and to provide audio for struggling readers to help them engage with their reading and come to enjoy it.

Fun Facts!
- Danelle's favorite authors include Dan Brown, Steve Berry, and Sophie Kinsella. Right now she is reading American Wife by Taya Kyle.
- Danelle is great with computers and enjoys exercising.
- Danelle and I (Laura) have a few things in common. We both took Children's Literature during the summer semester. We were in the same literature circle group, and we enjoyed discussing 4 books together online with our other two group members. We also both love scrapbooking!
