A Message from the Principal...
Hazel Dell Families,
Thank you for all the wonderful munchies and goodies that are often given to the staff at school. Whether it is through the PTO monthly munchies or an unexpected doughnut/coffee/soda drop off….. All those things add a fun spark to the day. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful school community!
A couple business items:
Late buses - with covid causing shortages we are doing our best to keep things rollin’. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. For those of you that have now opted to be car riders, we start unloading cars at 7:35am, students need to be in the class by 7:50am.
Car Riders - you are doing awesome! Thank you for having students ready to hop out of the car when you arrive at the unloading zone. This helps keep the line moving and lessens the time staff are out in the cold.
Quarantine students - if students are home and are feeling well - please be sure students are completing school work. Teachers are working hard to prepare work for these students and to keep learning going strong. They will have a grace period to catch up - but work done at home will really help the transition back to class.
And…. This Wednesday is...
Our normal late start - school starts 40 minutes later/ cars unload 8:15 & tardy bell at 8:30am
World Read Aloud Day - we have several special guests coming to read!
National TuTu day and “2.2.22” - Wear your Ties and Tutus!
It is also National Game day and Day of Play - we are going to have LOTS of fun next week.
Ties and TuTu Day 2.2.22!
Cafeteria Menu Changes
We recently updated our webpage with menu updates. This link is updated daily and usually has at least 2 days of menus. Students can check the night before or morning of school to ensure what will be available for lunch that day.

High Ability (FOCUS) Screening
Parents: Noblesville Schools relies on NWEA scores to identify students who achieve at exceptional levels for High Ability (FOCUS) instruction. To identify students with the potential for high achievement that is not reflected in NWEA scores, all students in kindergarten and second grade who are not already identified as High Ability in both math and English language arts will take an online screener called the Cognitive Abilities Test, or CogAT. Students who meet the benchmark on the screener will later take the remaining portions of the CogAT. All fifth graders who are not already identified as High Ability in both math and English language arts and who meet the benchmark will take the full CogAT without first taking the screener.
If you have questions about high ability testing and instruction, go to www.noblesvilleschools.org and click on Academics and then on High Ability. Questions may also be directed to the principal.
