Captain's Log
PASS CHRISTIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
AHOY, PIRATES!
Incandescent has left the building! Our senior class met their final milestone in K-12 education. They are off to eXplore all that the world has to offer. Their success would not have been possible without all of you. Thank you for making their night possible!
As I watched the various awards programs over the last few weeks, something important stood out. The most successful groups of students had strong relationships with their teachers. The teacher tears and bear hugs said it all. As student after student approached to receive their awards, they were greeted with loving smiles and hugs of congratulations. As our seniors walked the halls, they ran into the arms of teachers with whom they connected. The relationships created the path to learning for these students; and, I thank you for that. It takes so much of us to give the love that our children desire and deserve...countless hours of planning, preparation, and eXecution are a direct result of the passion and love that we have for our children and district. It has been an honor to serve alongside such an amazingly giving faculstaff.
As we enter the summer months, I implore you to take time to decompress, have fun, and - just do nothing! Spend time with your family and make time for yourself. Yet, steal a few moments to be reflective of how we can make next year even more special. You each will be missed. We have great things in store for 2020! We can hardly wait to bring it all into focus!
Over the next 2.5 days, please remind your children about summer safety, encourage them to read, and challenge them to play hard; they deserve it!
With that, I submit the Captain’s Log. #committedtoeXcellence #eXcellencemarksthespot #finishstrong #2.5days cje

Summer Maintenance Requests
From MDE: In an effort to help with transitioning into the 2019-20 school year, please send a message to parents of 6th graders reminding them of the requirement to submit an updated 121 Immunization Compliance Form at 7th grade entry . A dose of Tdap vaccine remains the requirement for 7th grade school entry, but we strongly encourage all students to receive HPV and meningococcal vaccine at the same time. All three of these vaccines are needed to help protect children in our communities from life-threatening diseases and HPV-associated cancers. Please join with us in promoting all three vaccines.
The following is a short message that may be sent to all 6th grade parents through a text or e-mail reminder system:
ATTENTION – Parents of 6th Graders:
Avoid LONG back-to-school lines
Schedule your child’s wellness visit NOW!
Visit your regular physician, provider or come to your local health department.
Students entering 7th grade need vaccines
& a new 121 Compliance Form.
The MS State Dept of Health strongly recommends
HPV & Meningoccal vaccines at this age.
HPV Vaccine is Cancer Prevention
Feel free to contact the MSDH Immunization Program at (601) 576-7751 with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued partnership to ensure the safety and well-being of the children of Mississippi.
