What's Up in the Classroom?
Writing - Students have been doing very well with our new writing concept (informational/explanatory writing). They've all chosen a topic to research, gathered facts and wrote an introductory paragraph. They will be working on the body of the writing next.
Spelling - Students have a new sort this week and should be practicing for 10 minutes each night.
Math - We've finished our lessons on converting units of measurement and are onto reviewing area and perimeter. Our test will be next week.
Social Studies - The eras in Wisconsin history has been on the agenda all week. Students are watching videos to learn all about the history of Wisconsin. They are also answering focus questions and will be doing some reading about the topic. We will be doing this for the rest of the month!
Reading - I wanted to work on the close reading concept but eras has been consuming most of our reading time. So, we'll visit that skill next week. Instead, we've been learning about note taking and answering focused questions concisely.
