Student Volunteers Needed for Winter Festival
Bethlehem Christian Academy is looking for student volunteers for their Winter Fest & Vendor Fair on December 1st. Students would work the games, photo booth, face painting station, and concessions from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please call 256-828-4835, extension 5, if you are able to work this event.

Accepted into Auburn?
Was your senior accepted into Auburn? They must complete AUSOM to be eligible for ANY scholarships. This includes merit scholarships and must be done by Saturday, December 1st.
Calhoun's Technical Trade Programs & Paid Work Experience
Is your senior interested in a technical trade program and interested in paid work experience while in school? Calhoun Community College is now accepting applications for the F.A.M.E. (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) Program and their NEW EPIC (Excellence in Process Industrial Controls) Program. The application deadline is March 15.
FAME
The Alabama F.A.M.E. Program includes an Associate degree that combines cutting-edge curriculum that supports advanced manufacturing technology and paid working experience, along with learning highly sought after business principles and best practices of a world class manufacturer. Students make around $13.55 per hour, and many are hired by the company upon graduation.

EPIC
The EPIC Program combines an Associate of Applied Science degree in Process Technology with two years of paid, related co-op work experience with a sponsor company. There is a high demand for process technicians. Alabama ranks fourth in the nation for the highest concentration of chemical plants and system operators with an average salary of $67,930 with the 90th percentile in the $90,000 range, not including overtime or benefits, which also comes in at fourth in the nation.

Parent Meetings with College & Career Counselor: Parents of juniors and seniors are invited to sign up to meet with Mrs. Jagielski, College & Career Counselor. Dates and times have been added for December.
College Fee Waivers: Seniors who receive free or reduced lunch can receive a waiver for college applications. Most colleges will honor them. If you need one, see Mrs. Jagielski in the Guidance Office.
Alabama GI Dependent Scholarship or Post 9/11 (Forever) Bill: Parents, will your child be using the Alabama GI Dependent Scholarship or the Post 9/11 (Forever) Bill? Please let Mrs. Jagielski know, so she can add it to his or her scholarship total.

- UA Early College: A University of Alabama Early College representative will visit with interested students during their lunch in the cafeteria on November 28th. Ninth through twelfth graders are eligible to take advantage of this opportunity.

Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form in to Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.
Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend - Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.
1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.
2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.
3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.
Parenting Assistance Line: PAL is a service where anyone can call a toll free number 1-866-962-3030 and receive useful, practical information and assistance with developmental and parenting questions and concerns. Available 8:00am – 8:00pm (central time) Monday – Friday.
Recycle: Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
Reward Cards: Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit: Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.
Loyalty Reward Tags: (Hazel Green Pharmacy Loyalty Key Tag Program) Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your loyalty key tag when you visit Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you purchase a Prescription/Gift/OTC have them swipe your tag. HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a loyalty key tag. Just stop by the main office to pick one up.
