Meet the New Buccaneers!
Ms. Lisa Kelaher ~ 2nd Grade
My name is Lisa Kelaher and I am so excited to be joining the Buckhorn Creek family. I am originally from Indiana but I have been living in North Carolina for most of my adult life. I graduated from Ball State University with an Exercise Science degree and later got my Masters in Teaching from NC State University. I am a huge Wolfpack fan and I also love the NY Yankees! I love them so much I named my dog Jeter! Before coming to Buckhorn Creek I taught second grade at Kingswood Elementary in Cary.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my husband and 3 daughters (and of course my dog and my cat!). We love to hang out at the beach. I also love to play tennis as much as I can!
I look forward to building a strong, positive classroom community and providing an environment that encourages all students to strive to be their best.
Ms. Brooke Litte ~ Special Education
Hi! My name is Brooke Little. I’m exciting about joining the Buckhorn Creek team. I’ve lived in the Raleigh area all of my life and love it here! I graduated from Campbell University with my elementary education degree in 2007. Immediately after graduation I began teaching at West Lake Elementary in second grade. After receiving my National boards and Special Education license I decided to leave the regular education classroom and pursue my passion. I have been teaching emotional and behavioral special education for 4 years now and am looking forward to a 5th!
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. Since I’ve grown up in NC we are fortunate to spend a lot of time surrounded by our extended family and friends. In my down time I enjoy movies, shopping, crafting, and traveling. I look forward to getting to know all of you better this year!
BoxTops!
Did you know that you can now download the mobile app and scan your receipts?
As you shop for back to school supplies and snacks, keep an eye out for those Boxtops as a way to raise money for our school. You can also still cut and send them to school if you prefer. And don't forget to let friends and family members know to save them too!
Studnet-Parent Handbooks
Please also take a moment to review the WCPSS Student-Parent Handbook.
Stock the house for Mr. Warfield!
As he begins to plan his move, we are looking for ways to help him get established. Like our other teachers from abroad, he will arrive with just 2 simple suitcases. Thus, we want to help him out as much as possible! If you happen to have an extra set of pots and pans, dishes, silverware, or any other kitchen items in your house that you no longer need, please drop it off to the Buckhorn Creek office. We will also be looking for any living room furniture, dressers, etc. that can be utilized to help Mr. Warfield.
Thank you all in advance for your support!
