January is Mental Wellness Month. January has been designated as Mental Wellness Month in an effort to recognize the importance of attending to our mental health, especially seeing the vast prevalence of mental health issues and disorders that exist in our world.

How "High Functioning Anxiety" Impacts Teens - Article

While anxiety is a serious issue for many teens, some may not get treatment or even a diagnosis for it when they should because they have high-functioning anxiety, which can go unnoticed. Their stress and mental health concerns are masked under so-called “good” behaviors or outcomes, such as strong academic performance.

National Girls & Women in Sports Day

National Girls and Women in Sports Day inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power!


All girls in grades 2-6 are invited to West Chester University to try out some sports with members of the West Chester Women’s Sports teams. Each girl will receive a certificate and a ticket to a future women’s basketball game!

Sports Equipment Drive starts February 1st, 2023

This February give back to your community by donating to the Sports Equipment Drive. Starting February 1st, donate your equipment to the boxes around the EAST HIGH SCHOOL gym area to give to families in need in the Philadelphia area.


We hope that you can increase the charitable spirit in your heart this February to give the needy a chance at the sports you love.

West Chester East Swim & Dive Team

Any 6th, 7th and 8th grader who may be interested in joining the West Chester East Swim & Dive Team are invited to attend the HOME meet at the West Chester YMCA on January 24, 2023 at 7:30 pm. Students will have the opportunity to meet the coaches and the team and to be part of the action.


This is a RSVP event. Interested students should respond by January 20, 2023 by emailing Ms. Kara Kim at karakim02@yahoo.com so we can accommodate all those interested.

WCE SWIM & DIVE MEET INVITATION

January 26th, 2023 - Transition to Adulthood Night

Transition to Adulthood night is a presentation geared towards current 7th grade students through age 21. Topics to be discussed include waiver funding, wait lists, eligibility and employment. Speaker Julie Moyer will review the process of transitioning your child from school based to adult-based services and discuss pathways of post-secondary training in the areas of employment, community living, recreation, and leisure.


This session will take place at the WCASD district office (Spellman Building) at 6:30 pm.
