Learning in Action at the Curriculum Workshop
Parents will have an opportunity to hear directly from District 58 teachers about what happens in our classrooms as they rotate through five mini-sessions at Monday’s Curriculum Workshop. Teachers will showcase learning in five areas: our new K-5 math curriculum, elementary English-Language Arts curriculum, elementary PE, middle school social-emotional learning and middle school science. This is an engaging evening for parents and community members and is followed by an opportunity to engage in a 30-minute two-way dialogue with School Board members.
Please join us at Hillcrest School on Monday, February 24th at 7:00 pm!
Lunchroom Expectations
Students have done a wonderful job in the lunchroom this year with improving lunchroom behavior as staff support our CHAMPS system in the small gym. During the past few weeks, many students have struggled to follow some of these expectations. Please help us by reminding children about appropriate conversation, respecting the school environment, and respecting all adults in the building. We will continue to work as a team on this, and the staff and I greatly appreciate any home support with this as well.
Cold and Flu Season
With cold and flu season upon us, it's very important that children remain home if they have a temperature of 100.0 or greater until they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medications. Children should also remain home for 24 hours free of any symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea. Please see the District 58 health guidelines here: https://sites.google.com/dg58.org/mshannon/health-guide?authuser=0
Dine and Share
The PTA will be hosting a Dine and Share event at Another Round on Thursday, February 27th from 4-10 PM. A flyer will be coming home with students. You must present the flyer to contribute to the Henry Puffer PTA
Variety Show
The Variety Show (formerly known as the Talent Show) is coming up! Tryouts begin on Friday, March 6th. Please see the attached document with all of the Variety Show details.

District 58 Facility Planning

Learn more about the District's facility planning efforts by visiting www.dg58.org/facility-planning. Or, visit www.dg58.org and click on the "Facility Planning" menu tab!
