Riverview Report
Here's What's Happening at Riverview
A Message From Ms. Poulson
With the weather cooling down, just a reminder that students will be outside for recesses, so they may want to bring a jacket with them to school. We encourage parents to write their child's name on any personal items so they can be returned if lost or misplaced. Also, thank you for helping us with student safety, and parking in the correct spots for after school pick-up. As a reminder, please only park in actual parking spots and not along any red curbs.
Fall Break will start October 19th. This year we also have Monday off. This means there will be no school on Thursday 10/19, Friday 10/20, and Monday 10/23. Halloween is on a Tuesday this year, and we will be celebrating here at the school that day. Our Parade will start at 9:00 am.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful month.
If I can help in any way, please reach out to me.
Thank you,
Ms. Poulson

Reflections Information
Dear Riverview families,
We are excited for this year's PTA Reflections Contest! This year's theme is "I Am Hopeful Because..." Students can create entries in the following categories: photography, dance, literature, 2D visual art, 3D visual art, music composition, and film production. Students may submit entries in as many categories as they choose but may only submit one entry per category. All entries are due October 16th.
If this is the first year your student has participated in Reflections, here is how you submit entries:
1. Visit utahpta.org/ref
2. Create an account.
• When asked for your PTA position, you may put “Parent.”
• Verify your account using the email sent by Utah PTA after your account is created.
• Create a password.
3. Return to utahpta.org/ref and click on “Submit Reflections Entries.”
4. Click on “+ Add Entry.”
5. Complete the form, upload the necessary files, and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
Note: The website is formatted to work on almost any web-enabled device, including computers, tablets, and even smart phones. After you have submitted your entries, you will be able to see and review them on your account, so nothing will be lost or damaged. Finally, here is a link to the official rules. http://www.utahpta.org/reflections-rules-category-faqs
We look forward to seeing all the entries! It's so fun to see the students share their talents and creativity!
If you have any questions, please email riverviewelementaryreflections@gmail.com.
Thank you!

Halloween Parade Information
Halloween Parade Info
The Halloween Parade will start at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 31st. We will start by parading through the hallways as we pick up each class to join the parade and then will adventure outside. We invite parents to line the sidewalks around the baseball diamond across the street from the school (it is the closest field to the school). This will be the same as it has been in past years. If you have any questions, you are welcome to call the office or reach out to your child's teacher. *Students will be allowed to wear their mask during the parade, but won't be able to wear them during school. *No weapons (even if they are part of their costume) will be permitted.
