Principal's Update - Ms. Laura Hazard

Happy Friday SRES Families!

We had a great week at school! Students are settling back into our routine after a few detours (holidays, MAP assessment); it's always nice to get back into a "normal" routine where teaching and learning has uninterrupted time to grow!

We are pleased to be able to send home a We Read Book (see below for more details) on Monday in honor of National Reading Day, January 23rd! We hope you enjoy your time reading with your child. There is nothing like snuggling up on the couch with a good book in hand and a child by your side. Treasure your time reading with your child!

After looking at the remote learning week survey data with staff, we are now more aware of the things you believe made remote learning successful (eg. communication, very clear schedules, checklists, lists of work that is due, live instruction with teachers, etc.) and areas we need to address (eg. providing more opportunities for flexibility given work schedules). Thank you, again, to the 14 families who completed the survey. We value your feedback.

Survey: Travel over February break. We are looking to our community to help us assess the risk related to travel over February break. Please click on the link to answer a one question survey. We will use the data to make an informed decision about remote/in-person instruction following the break. Answers are confidential. Thank you!

Remember to mark your calendars for March 9th as storyteller, Len Cabral, will present an evening Zoom storytelling family event! We cannot wait!!

Stay warm this weekend!
