COVID/Mask update
Pooled testing was conducted again on Monday (3/28) and identified 15 cases of COVID in the building. Per the metrics laid out by the Superintendent and approved by School Committee, masking will be mandatory at WHS. The need for mandatory masking will be reassessed next Tuesday when pool results come back. We ask that students bring a mask to school, all the time for days like these where we are required to, "make the switch."
Please refer to the Superintendent's Newsletter for more information about the mask policy, including a link to the metrics by which we come to a decision.
Program of studies night
Students and families are invited to join us for Program of Studies Night at WHS on Thursday, April 7. Following the presentation, students and families are invited to visit with curriculum coordinators to learn more about specific departmental course offerings and opportunities available to WHS students. The event will conclude at 8:00 PM.

Tutoring in the Library
Tutoring is available in the library Tuesday through Friday mornings, from 7:30 - 8:30, and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15-4:15. In addition to the teachers on duty, there are also National Honor Society students who tutor in a wide variety of areas including Social Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Spanish, English and Math.
Returning after COVID
If you test positive for COVID and you are asymptomatic, you may come back on day six. The day you test positive for COVID is day 0. For example, if you get a positive test on Wednesday (day 0), you can return on the following Tuesday (day 6). See chart below.
If you are symptomatic and then you test positive, day 0 is the first day you start to develop symptoms.
If you test positive and develop symptoms AFTER your positive test, day 0 resets to the day you become symptomatic.
YOU CAN ONLY RETURN after 5 days of isolation if you were asymptomatic, OR if you are fever-free and your symptoms are resolving.
If you have COVID, you cannot be part of pool testing for 90 days from your positive test, as you may test positive for up to 12 weeks on a PCR test.
