Dear Parent/Guardian:

This spring, your child will take The South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. Students in 4th grade will take the SC Ready Science assessment. All students in grades 3-8 take the SC READY.

Students will take these tests online. Our school is scheduled to take the tests on the following days:

May 3, 2023 SC Ready Reading – 3rd, 4th, 5th

May 4, 2023 SC Ready ELA – 3rd, 4th, 5th

May 9, 2023 SC Ready Math – 3rd, 4th, 5th

May 11, 2023 SC Ready Science – 4th

Testing will begin each morning at 8:30am. Please make sure your child is well rested and on time to school these days. Tardy students will not be allowed into class until testing is completed for the day.

The last day to check out library books will be on Friday, May 5th. All library books are due back to the library on Friday, May 12th. Please help your children locate any books so that they may be returned. Thank you!

PTO Hat Day will be on Friday, May 5th. Bring $1 to wear your favorite hat.

2nd graders will be traveling to the Georgia Aquarium on Monday, May 8th.

Our PHS Seniors and 5th grade Clap Out will take place on Friday, May 12th.

Kindergarten students will have their Fun in the Sun Day on Friday, May 12th!

Our 4th grade students will have their Living History Museum on Thursday, May 18th.

Our 5th graders will have their graduation on Thursday, May 18th at Pickens First Baptist Church. The program will start at 6:30 p.m.

Our incredible PTO will have an End of the Year Bash for all of our students on Friday, May 19th during the school day. This will take the place of class parties.

K5 graduation will be held on Monday, May 22nd at 9:00 a.m.

Our 1st - 4th graders will have Awards Day on Monday, May 22nd. You will receive an invitation if your child is receiving an award. Thank you!

10:00 a.m. - 3rd Grade

The last day for Wildcat Den is on Wednesday, May 24th!

Thursday, May 25th and Friday, May 26th are half days. We will dismiss all students by car or bus at 11:00 a.m.

Friday, May 26th is the last day of the 2022-2023 school year.

All medication must be picked up by Friday, May 26th at 12:00 p.m. or it will be destroyed. Thank you for your help with this.
