Moving Along With Mrs. Maddox
Dear Friends in Christ,
This year we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week starting on Sunday January 31, 2021. The theme this year is Faith, Excellence and Service. I think these three words perfectly identify our unique school year. Together we have placed our Faith in our Lord and His plan for us, we are striving for academic Excellence in all we do with face-to-face and online learning, and even though we all feel overwhelmed with emotions surrounding COVID-19, we continue to Serve Christ joyfully with confidence that He will provide all that we need.
We have many fun things planned for CSW. Students, parents, and Grandparents are invited to our Catholic Schools Week Mass and Open House on January 31, 2021. Come celebrate our beautiful school, attend Mass, and then take a quick tour of school after Mass. This year we are unable to have our typical Grandparent Celebration, so we are encouraging our students to bring their grandparents to Mass and tour our school on January 31, 2021. We are reserving 25 spots in our school cafeteria at the 9:30AM and 11:30AM Mass just for our school families. The St. Joseph Administration will lead families through the school after Mass, and children will be allowed to show their classrooms to their family. Students are encouraged to wear their uniforms to Mass, and will receive a free-dress pass for participating in the celebration to use on a school day. Overflow seating will be offered in the carpeted gym. Masks and social distancing will be observed to help keep everyone safe. We hope to see you on January 31, 2021.
With a grateful heart,
Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School
Acting with Prudence
Dear St. Joseph Parents,
As we start this second semester of school, I wanted to let you know of our updated protocols regarding quarantines when exposed to COVID.
In December the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment adopted the CDC’s guidelines on revising quarantines for those exposed to positive cases of COVID. We have also decided to adopt these revised guidelines as we begin this third quarter of school.
The new protocol for quarantine is as follows:
· Without Testing: Quarantine for 10 days from last exposure to a positive case of COVID. If the person remains symptom-free, they may return to activities on day 11 after exposure.
· With Testing: Quarantine for 7 days from last exposure. A PCR test should be conducted on day 5 or later. If this test is negative and the person is symptom-free, they may return to activities on day 8 after exposure.
All close contacts, regardless of which quarantine procedure they follow, should continue to be monitored for 14 days from their exposure. If symptoms develop during the 14-day period, they would need to isolate and get a PCR test.
For those that test positive for COVID, isolation is required for 10 days from their onset of symptoms or their test date if they are asymptomatic.
Please continue to keep your child home if they do not feel well. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

St. Joseph Pandemic Prayer
St. Joseph Pandemic Prayer for Healing and Guidance 2020-2021
Good and Gracious Lord, You have led us through difficult times before and continuously guide us with your wisdom and dignity. Be our navigator as we encompass new and frightening paths. There is much strife and anxiety when it comes to the unknown. Please continue to be our safeguard and our comfort. Help all of us discover, acknowledge, and honor your blessings during these times of uncertainty. Walk with us this school year. In Your name we pray, Amen.
