Principal's Message
Hello Parents, Students & the Margate Community,
I am thrilled to be named the Principal of Margate STEM Magnet Middle School! I have been working with middle school students for over 20 years, and there’s no place better to be.
As we start the school year leading up to a new decade in 2020, it is important to know that student success comes from all stakeholders working together promoting and supporting student academic efforts along with their social growth. Broward County Schools has adopted the challenge of Re-imagining Middle Grades with the exploration of Project Based and Social and Emotional Learning (PBL & SEL). Our teachers and staff are ready to take on this initiative, and we’ve attended workshops and have adopted all things PBL and will be implementing it along with our already successful strategies through STEM.
Margate Middle earned a “B” letter grade last school year based on FSA & EOC test scores and Middle School Acceleration points, and part of that success is due to the hard work students put in every single day at school and at home! Let’s continue the trend and make our way to the “A” rating coming soon in 2020!
At Margate Middle, our learning is cooperative, our relationships are respectful and our goal is always greatness!
Sincerely,
Sabine B. Phillips, Principal
