Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)
Orange, Blue, and Green Systems
This program should reflect the best practices happening within the general education classrooms and will support and accelerate the learning of those students who are below grade level expectations. Many school in CESA 10 were among the first to utilize the Orange, Green and Blue systems for grades Kindergarten, First, Second and Third grade levels.
Day 1 will dive more into the program and identify the differences between the day 1 and 2 rotation as well as the differences in the levels that must be noticed and taught. Day 2 will happen five weeks later, after participants have had a chance to implement the program, and will address questions participants may have as well as how to utilize some of the supporting materials such as the Continuum of Literacy Learning and the Prompting Guide 1.
Learning outcomes will include:
- Participants will understand the value of the running record and how the information can guide instructional practices within each lesson.
- Participants will identify the differences in the lesson formats and behaviors to notice and teach for in each level.
- Participants will understand the usage of the Prompting Guide 1 within the LLI lesson plan format as well as how it could be utilized in the general education classroom.
