October 10 @ 6:15 pm Historian’s Office – Historian Guided Siege of Saratoga Walk. On the first day of the anniversary of the Siege of Saratoga, join Town Historian Sean Kelleher to experience the battlefield from the same vantage point as the men who fought here. Walk the fields and woods to get a closer look at the famous and not so famous places and people that shaped the “Turning Point” of America’s War of Independence over two and a quarter centuries ago. October 16 @ 10 am Village of Schuylerville and Fort Hardy Committee – 238rd Anniversary of the American Victory at Saratoga Ceremony Commemoration at the Fort Hardy The ceremony location overlooking the Hudson River is where the British troops surrendered their weapons to the Americans. There will be the Schuylerville elementary school singing songs and commemorations by the Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution. Location: Fort Hardy Bandstand, Hudson River and Route 29, Schuylerville.
October 17 @ 1 pm Heritage Hunters Annual Genealogy Conference – Andrew Bartley Bartley is a genealogist, archivist, librarian and editor specializing in Vermont, Mayflower lineages and colonial New England. The Conference topics are: Crossing the Border, U.S. and Canadian Records; FamilySearch Program; American Probate System; and Your Brick Walls. This is an all day conference and there is a fee.
