Background Information

Hillary Clinton has always had a strong relationship with politics and has been in many political postions over her years such as during her time as First Lady of the U.S. president Bill Clinton in the years of 1993 to 2001 , She served as U.S. senator from New York between 2001 to 2009, She served as 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, Now she is running for the Democratic nomination for the president of the United States during the 2016 presidential election. She was born on October 26 1947 to her parents her Father Hugh E. Rodham A WWII navy vet and stern republican from Scranton Arkansas and her mother Dorthy Howell Rodham from Chicago Illinois Her mother had a tough childhood abandoned by her parents as a young child and given to other family members who wanted nothing to do with them so she learned to live by supporting herself. Her mothers experiences are what inspired Hillary to fight for the needs of children everwhere. She Co-founded Arkansas advocates for children and families in 1977.

Democratic

Hillary Clintons political views best describe the Liberal ideology. This is evidenced by her frequent Liberal view on economic issues by doing things such as trying to create new programs to help the lower income families such as in 2008 with the economic stimulus package as well as how she supports energy conservation such as how she supports cap-and-trade witch allows companies to trade carbon credits as well as how she advocates a zero emission policy for federal buildings by 2030. Her stance on climate change in June 2014, she proposed $70 billion per year by 2020 for climate change mitigation. Her feelings towards health care in a speech to Harvard medical school on June 4th 1998 Clinton outlined general support for general health care for americans. Her views on Gay rights Clinton said that the U.S. military's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy was not working and that openly homosexual people should be allowed to serve: "We are being deprived of thousands of patriotic men and women who want to serve their country who are bringing skills into the armed services that we desperately need, like translation skills."

Evidence #1, Social Security and Medicare

If Hillary is elected to the presidency she promises to Fight any effort to privatize or weaken Medicare and Social Security, and expand Social Security for future generations by asking the wealthiest to contribute more, Reform our health care system to incentivize and reward quality care, Demand lower prices for prescription drugs for seniors receiving Medicare,Expand Social Security benefits for widows and those who took time out of the paid workforce to care for a child or sick family member. These views are much like the Liberal desires to offer financial support to others as well as offer help to those who need it.

Evidence #2, Same Sex Marriage and LGBT

If elected To the presidency Clinton promises to Ensure full federal equality for all LGBT Americans, Support LGBT kids, parents, and elders, Secure affordable treatment for people living with HIV and AIDS.This next quote shows her firm stance on the matter “We should ban discrimination against LGBT Americans and their families so they can live, learn, marry, and work just like everybody else.” this shows that she believes that same sex couples should have the right to marry and should not be treated differently then everyone else as well as how she does not tolerate discrimination towards them.

Evidence #3, Abortion and Planned Parenthood

If Hillary is elected to the presidency she promises to Protect women’s health and reproductive rights. Women’s personal health decisions should be made by a woman, her family, and her faith, with the counsel of her doctor. Hillary will stand up to Republican attempts to defend Planned Parenthood, which would restrict access to critical health care services, like cancer screenings, contraception, and safe, legal abortion. She will fight to protect the Affordable Care Act, which bans insurance companies from discriminating against women and guarantees 47 million women and counting access to preventive care. This shows she has a Pro choice view on the rights of women being able to have safe and legal abortions as well as fund planned parenthood to help educate and provide women with things the need to live healthy lives.
