Attention Student Drivers and Parent Drop Off!

We are experiencing a much higher volume of cars dropping off students or parking on campus than previous years. As you are aware, this has led to a significant amount of traffic during morning drop off. We will continue to monitor and adjust the flow of traffic as much as we are able to, however parents and students that are driving to campus should also plan to adjust the time they leave home to ensure you have plenty of time and your student is able to be in first period by 7:15 AM.

Dress Code Information

All students attended grade level assemblies on Thursday and Friday last week. One item that was discussed was the expectations related to our Katy ISD school dress code that is pictured below.

Some of the most frequent infractions that we spoke with numerous students about in the first few days of school were inappropriate graphics/slogans on t-shirts, crop and low cut tops, and shorts/skirts that were too short to be in compliance with our district dress code.

Beginning Monday, students that are out of dress code will be asked to change clothes to be in compliance. Please take some time to review the dress code pictured below.

Student Parking 2021-2022

We are still in the process of handing out student parking stickers. Do not worry if you have not received your parking sticker yet. Students will be able to park on campus until all parking stickers are given out without any violations. Students should continue to park in the front of the main building in the back section by thee road. Until you receive your parking sticker, do not park anywhere else on campus.

Click here to review student parking permit directions. When your sticker is ready to pickup the Junior Office will contact you.

Students are required to pay $40 for a student parking permit if they plan on parking on campus. Student parking registration is now open.

Important Dates from the Counseling Office

August 27 - Off Campus PE forms must be submitted to the counselor's office

September 23 - GPA Exempt Forms due to the counselors' office

GPA Exempt Application Information

The 2021-22 GPA Exempt Application is now online. Students can access the application from My Katy Cloud. Simply search “GPA Exempt” and the tile will appear. Complete the application and submit. The deadline to submit is September 23, the end of the first 6 weeks. If all criteria are met, it will be approved and a course change will be made to reflect enrollment in a GPA Exempt course. Once the student makes the decision to take a course as GPA-exempt, the decision is final and cannot be changed. Students enrolled in full-year courses do not need to reapply during the second semester. Students, including move-in students, who miss the deadline for application for the first semester, may apply for exemption for the second semester if they meet the criteria.

Updates to the Discipline Management Plan

Updates for 2021-2022
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2021-2022 Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct on Monday, July 26. A summary of the changes can be found here. Two significant changes include:

  • Students who engage in a second offense related to vaping or paraphernalia (selling, giving, delivering, possessing, using, or being under the influence) regardless of the substance, will be recommended to the District’s Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP), the Opportunity Awareness Center (OAC).
  • Students who are in possession of synthetic or look-alike drugs will also be recommended to the DAEP.

Parents and students should review the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct each year to be aware of behavior expectations and potential consequences.

Katy ISD appreciates partnering with parents to ensure all students can attend alcohol, drug, and vape-free campuses. Student safety and academic success is our number one priority!
