Teachers help select assistive technology for their students
Why It Matters
Teachers who are involved in assistive technology decisions feel greater ownership over the process, and they are more likely to use assistive technology in their classrooms (CAST, 2013).
Did you know Grant Wood AEA offers Assistive Technology consultants who serve our districts! Consultants' contact info and PD information can be found our AT Site. You can also contact our AT Lead Julie Freed, jfreed@gwaea.org
Below is how GWAEA teachers responded who participated in the BrightBytes Clarity survey.

An education that makes students hopeful and prepared to find good jobs isn't just important to America's future - it should be a fundamental right of every student in the country. Gallup has surveyed millions of students to uncover and understand what matters most to student success.Tim Hodges, Director of Research for Gallup’s Education Practice will share results of the Gallup Student Poll measuring hope, engagement, and well-being. http://goo.gl/OQegpn

EdCamp Iowa is Coming Soon!
EdCampIowa is for educators, students, parents, board members, policymakers, community members, and anyone that cares about education. Laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other electronic devices are encouraged. Oh, and it's FREE!
What is an EdCamp?
EdCamp sessions are NOT 'sit and get' presentations. EdCamps are about discussion and thinking and problem-solving. We build the agenda first thing in the morning and then spend the rest of the day talking, sharing, and learning. Come prepared to participate!
