WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!

We are very excited to begin the new school year! We have many new procedures that are in place to keep all of our students safe. Please take a few minutes to carefully read through the following updates. We will continue to send out information as we build our plans for a safe and happy school year. SUPPLY DROP OFF

We will be having a drive-through supply drop off on Monday, August 24th. In order to control traffic, please try to drop off supplies at your student's scheduled time. Grade level teachers will be available at designated times to collect supplies and say hello. If you have children in different grades, please feel to choose one pick up time to drop off all supplies.


10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - First grade

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Second - Third grade

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Fourth - Fifth grade


If you have Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, or hotspots, from last spring, we will collect them at this time to prevent you from encountering extra fees.


If your child requires medication during the school day, please drop off all medications with the supplies on this day.

TECHNOLOGY

The district has adopted a bring your own device policy. If you wish to send your child with their own device to school this year, you are able to do so. When in school, our students will be using Chromebooks. We have had some questions from parents interested in purchasing devices. We have included a link below that would be helpful if you are in the market for buying a device.

FROM THE CLINIC

As we head into the in-person school year this fall, it is important now, more than ever, that our families have established a back-up plan for sick student pick-up. We understand that parents and guardians are back at work, but should your child have a fever or concerning symptoms during the school day, pick-up from school will need to happen as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please make plans in advance to identify friends or family who would be willing to pick up your child if you are unable to leave work. We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation.


MEDICATION CAN BE DROPPED OFF DURING SUPPLY DROP OFF ON AUGUST 24th.

Medications that need to be taken by your student during the school day this year should be dropped off during supply drop-off and handed directly to a staff member. Please have all pills counted, and the number of pills you are dropping off written on the paperwork. The school nurse will then count the pills within the next day and call you to confirm the count. Medications will not be accepted without the appropriate papers completed by the health care provider. Thank you for your cooperation with this year's procedure.

All teacher assignments will be announced via Power School on Friday, August 21st at 4:00 PM.

VISITOR POLICY

In order to keep all of our students and staff safe, visitors and volunteers will be limited in the building. If a student needs to be released early, please send a note that morning for the classroom teacher. When arriving at school, you will be required to wait in the bullpen area. All visitors picking up a child will need to present a driver's license and will need to be wearing a mask. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

POWER SCHOOL UPDATES

IMPORTANT: Please complete your information in PowerSchool! You should have received a link from computer services to update your information. We will need to have accurate phone numbers. All the information will need to be completed on or before August 31st. It is imperative that we are able to reach you, should your child become ill, or in case of an emergency.

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION

Hope to see our new Jaguars at the virtual Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. We are inviting you and your child to join us for an informational meeting to prepare our kindergarteners for school this year. Please choose a time that is convenient for you to attend.

MEET THE TEACHER VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS GRADES 1-5

All teachers will be holding virtual "Meet the Teacher" sessions. They will have 2 session times available. Please try to join them as they go over class expectations and curriculum for the upcoming school year. Pick the session that is convenient for you. Our TJ teachers are excited to meet you and share important information with you about their classrooms.


First Grade - August 25th 11:30 a.m. or 5:00 p.m.

Second Grade - August 27th 11:00 a.m. or 5:00 p.m.

Third Grade - August 25th 11:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.

Fourth Grade - August 26th 11:00 a.m. or 5:00 p.m.

Fifth Grade - August 25th 10:30 a.m or 5:00 p.m.


You will receive a Google Meet link prior to the meeting from the classroom teacher.

VIRTUAL STUDENTS - MEET THE TEACHER / SUPPLY PICK-UP

If you are a virtual learner, your teacher will be contacting you directly with the date and time of your Meet the Teacher session. Although we will not see you on a daily basis, we will be in touch with our virtual Jaguars as we monitor your progress. We will certainly miss your smiling faces!


Virtual students will receive a GO Bag. This bag will contain materials necessary for virtual learning. Devices will be distributed at this time if you have requested one. Our drive-through pick-up day is Friday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Not all materials will be ready for pick-up due to back-ordered items, therefore we will have an additional pick-up day at a later date. Stay tuned.

PTO

Please consider being a part of our Parent Teacher Organization. They are a big support to our teachers and students. This year, PTO has purchased lanyards for every Jaguar. These lanyards will help to keep masks attached to each student at all times. This organization meets on the third Tuesday of each month. We would for you to join us virtually for our first meeting on September 18th at 6:30 p.m.

CAR TAGS AND BUS PASSES

Bus passes will be mailed beginning today. If you do not receive a bus pass by Friday, August 28th, please contact transportation at 440- 975-3736.


Emergency bus passes will not be issued this school year. Students may not ride other buses. In order to abide by health and safety regulations.


Car tags will be distributed at supply drop off. Please return old tags. We will issue a new tag with your family name instead of numbers this year to assist with dismissal.
