All Things Baker!
Principal's Message!
On Friday, I had my first college visit with my daughter. She had a music audition at The Butler School of Music at the University of Texas, Austin. It was a sobering experience in that I realized my ONLY child will be leaving soon. She will be out on her own, having her own adventures, creating her own story, making her own choices. In that moment, I also realized how much faith I have in her and her making the right choices, being a kind person, and living her best life. But I also realized that I could not take sole credit for the amazing person she has become. I reflected on all the people that influenced her and guided her. I realized that so many of those people were part of her school career, her teachers, her counselors, any and all staff she ever had the good fortune of interacting with.
All this reminded me how important education is, how important it is to make our schools the best, most welcoming, kindest, safest environment we can. We need to create a space that is challenging but not frustrating where our kiddos can learn and grow. I am so proud of the faculty and staff at Baker and how diligently they work for every kiddo. I want to thank all those people that influenced my daughter and I know that I challenge myself everyday to give back and keep Baker Elementary, Where Kindness is King . . . Simply the Best!
Sincerely,
Danielle Wallace
