COVID-19 Symptom Screening Tool

Families received laminated versions of the symptom screener this week in the mail along with recommendations of what to send their child to school with each day. See Classroom Ready Checklist below.

Parents or guardians MUST check students for COVID-19 symptoms EACH DAY BEFORE sending a child to school. By sending your child to school, you are declaring that you have completed this symptom checker and that your child is not exhibiting any of the symptoms on the form.

Annual Online Registration

Thank you to everyone that has already completed their annual online registration forms!

Every year, all families are required to fill out the digital Annual Registration for each student. Families may complete these forms through ParentConnection. Through this process you will be asked to update your student’s emergency contact information, home address, and health information, review our technology use policy and student handbooks, learn more about PTSA/PTA, access the web store, and much more.

Need Help? Many of the most commonly asked questions can be found on our FAQs page (located in the upper right-hand corner of ParentConnection.) If you have further questions, please email the helpdesk at

All elementary students and Cooke School students must have the Annual Registration completed prior to the start of school on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

** This process will need to be repeated for each additional child. **

student supply pick up

It was great to see so many families during supply pick up today! The next supply pick up day is Monday, September 14th from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM for our Winchester virtual students

(students that opted for virtual learning until January)

*Please note all virtual students will retrieve their supplies from their home buildings. Each building has separate pick up dates and times due to staffing and building availability so watch your email for the correct dates and times.

*For those not able to pick up supplies on Friday, you can stop by the school on Monday, September 14th from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

For this process to run safely and efficiently, we ask the following procedures be followed:

  • Please print and fill out THIS PAGE prior to your arrival. We ask that you place this page in your windshield as it will assist our process in terms of efficiency. Complete one for every child in your household.

  • As you arrive, please stay in the right carpool lane (lane closest to the school building) and do not exit the line until you have all your supplies.

  • We will have adult runners retrieve your items and bring them to your car.

  • Students and parents are asked to remain in their vehicles throughout the pickup.

  • If possible, please open either your trunk or sliding door to your minivan and one of our volunteers will place your materials inside your vehicle...touchless service :)

  • Please be patient as our goal is to safely get all supplies to you as efficiently as possible.

A Letter from the PTA President

Winchester Community,

As we all look forward to starting the new school year during these unprecedented times, our PTA Executive Board looks forward to leading a new chapter in the Winchester PTA. Winchester is a unique public elementary school due to the result of an involved, resourceful PTA community...that means YOU!

This year, more than ever, we need to stay committed and involved so we have the resources to respond to the unique challenges Winchester faces this year.

What does the Winchester PTA provide?

● Family programs and Community events: new events like Drive-in Movie Night, Halloween Trick-or-Treating Event, Spring Festival, as well as favorites like Breakfast with a Buddy and Mother-Son Bowling

● Junior Enrichment Series (virtual and in-person options)

● Teacher stipends

● Field Day, March is Reading Month, Book Fair

● Math Pentathlon

● Health and Wellness

● Yearbook

● Student directory (only available with PTA membership)

How in the world do we raise enough money for all of this?! Historically, we have raised money through the following events:

● Invest in Your Child

● Fall Festival (moved to Spring this year)

● Scrip Cards (Busch’s & Kroger) and Amazon Prime

Although the ways we raise money this year may look different due to the unprecedented year we are facing, our legacy of supporting our children and educators will ALWAYS remain the same.

Knowing all of this, WHY wouldn’t you want to get involved? We have opportunities to match with your interests, talents, and time! It takes an entire community of volunteers to pull off this magic!

Where to start:

● Virtual PTA Meeting: September 16th, 7 pm – Hear from our Principal and PTA officers, learn about our community, vote on our proposed budget*, and find out how you can BE PART OF IT!! *Only paid PTA members are eligible to vote
