Happy Monday everyone! If you can believe it or not July ends this week and August 1st is Saturday! This time apart has gone by very quickly while at the same time it has seemed like forever since we have seen your kids. Many of us have already been eagerly anticipating the return of school and starting next week we will be getting ready for just that. Please check below for updates and info on Walkthrough/Registration as well as other useful updates. We hope you all have a safe and wonderful week!
Text Messaging coming to MDUSD [NEW]
Our district-wide school messenger service is expanding to now include text messages. If you would like to receive text messages please be sure to check your Homelink account to ensure your phone number is correct and can receive messages. For more information, a flyer can be found here (for Espanol click here). If you would not like to receive text messages there are instructions on how to opt-out.
MDUSD Roadmap to Reopening [NEW POST]
The Board of Education will be meeting tonight to vote on a discuss the upcoming school year. At the last board meeting, the district was directed to pursue and then present (tonight) on starting the school year with Distance Learning fully implemented. After tonight's meeting the goal for the start of the year will hopefully be more clear. Having said that, the district has posted its Preliminary Reopening Plan and it can be found here.

2020-21 School Year Walkthrough
This year EDMS will be holding a Week of Walkthrough for our students and families. W.o.W. will be held Monday, August 3rd through Friday, August 7th. You will be receiving a postcard in the mail with the specific dates and times for your student's grade level and last name in addition to we will be sending out a special Walkthrough Edition of our newsletter this Friday. All county social distancing requirements will need to be followed and everyone entering campus must be wearing a mask. We will have parameters in place for moving through campus and only a certain number of people will be allowed on campus. We have purposefully built-in more hours for walkthrough to help accommodate peoples' schedules and to limit the number of people on campus at one time. More information will be coming to you this week. Stay tuned.
6th GradersALL incoming 6th grade students must verify their address. Please contact our Registrar, Ms. Bailey-Mitchell if you have any questions. You can either call the mainline, 925.682.5700 or email her firstname.lastname@example.org. Documents needed to verify your address can be found here.
Parents, be sure to provide proof of your student's immunizations. Remember, "No Shot, No School." These can be emailed or brought into the main office M-F 8-3pm and/or brought in during walkthrough.
Thank you to all of you who came and picked up your yearbooks, it was great to see everyone. If you didn't get a chance to come down last week, you can pick them up from the office during office hours 9-3. If you did not order a yearbook but would like one, please send an email here and we can take your order; we have a few extras.
