Voting Information

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019. The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for voting at your polling location.

Absentee Voting Dates & Times

Absentee/early voting begins Tuesday, October 8th and continues until the day before the election at the Board of Elections office, 8444 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor (near Riverview Nursing Home, in Veterans Building).

Fall Fun!

Mrs. Mussell’s students used straws and tape to make a contraption that could hold an apple. There were many different designs and some good teamwork!

It's Halloween Time!

Some of the kindergarten and third-grade classrooms were in the Halloween spirit with pumpkin book reports. Students decorated their pumpkin to match the book they read.

Dojo Cart Rewards

Stella bought a coupon from the Dojo cart to read aloud to kindergarten. It looks like the students are enjoying her reward as much as she is!

Recycle. The possibilities are endless!

Our students enjoy helping with recycling around the building. They are proud to have a job that helps keep our school clean. Arianna and Connor help with the first-grade classrooms.

2nd Grade completes unit on Animals building homes

Second-grade students completed a unit on animals building homes. They read several informational books and did a project on a beaver's lodge. Mrs. Lajti, the school custodian, brought in some real beaver logs from a lodge near her home to show the students.

OHMS Celebrates Veterans Day

The Oak Harbor Middle School will be celebrating Veterans Day on Monday, November 11th at 8:30 in the gymnasium. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Celebration of Veterans Day Through Music” . The 5th-grade music students, 7th-grade choir, and 7th-grade band will be performing.

The District Highlight was presented by Oak Harbor Middle School Principal, Mr. Spurlock, 6th-grade teachers, and last year's 6th-grade students who shared some Camp Michindoh memories and highlights from the trip in May 2019.

We got to meet our newest building employee, Finnegan! Fin is a flat-coated retriever and therapy dog-in-training. Fin will be walking the halls with our Ottawa County Sheriff Resouce Officer, Deputy Chad Millner, to help improve the lives of our students academically and emotionally.


Mandatory OHSAA Winter meeting

The mandatory OHSAA Winter meeting will be held on Nov. 6th at 7:00 pm in the High School Cafeteria. Those parents of athletes in grades 7-12 that did not attend the fall meeting need to attend the 7:00 portion followed by the individual team meetings that follow approximately 7:30. Parents that attended the Fall OHSAA meeting only need to show up for the individual sports meeting around 7:30.
