The Sandshore Scoop
Week Ending May 7, 2021
A Message From Ms. Curry
A huge thank you to the SHSP for the "Appreciation Station" and helping us celebrate our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. It really brightened everyone's week and made them feel special.
It was so good to see so many of our Cohort V students at Picture Day this week! Thank you for participating.
Our Toiletry Drive has been extended to May 12th. Donations can be dropped off at school. We appreciate all we have received so far.
Happy Mother's Day to all of our Sandshore moms!
Have a great weekend,

Attention Fifth Grade Parents
The SHSP is running a 5th Grade Class of 2021 fundraiser to hopefully raise funds for a “5th Grade Celebration” in June. The SHSP will be ordering the lawn signs shown on the attached flyer. Please note that the order is time sensitive and we will need to place the order by the close of business day on May 14, 2021.
The sign is $15/order. Pick-Up will be at the school, early June 2021.

Thanks you in advance for your donations, we are also looking for any Sponsors, if you have a business and would like to sponsor a class gift, please reach out to Rich Vanatta (firstname.lastname@example.org ) or Margaret Burns (email@example.com) for guidance on how you can help our 5th graders feel special as they move on to MOMS.
Sandshore has a new lost and found! It is located in the main lobby near the security desk and Officer Stan.
If you, or anyone you know, have a child 5 years old on or before 10/1/21, you can register them for the 2021-2022 Kindergarten school year!

Free and Reduced Lunch Update
Per N.J.A.C. 2:36-1.5(d), "Students are eligible for school meal benefits or free milk for the school year and up to 30 operating days in the subsequent school year". As of October 21, 2020, all students who previously qualified for free and reduced lunch in the 2019-2020 school year that have not submitted a lunch application for the 2020-2021 school year, have been reset to "paid" status. Although this has no immediate impact on any student because of the “free lunch for all”, when/if the” free lunch for all” status is lifted, students will be required to pay for their meals (breakfast and lunch) until an application has been received and processed.
To avoid an interruption in benefits please proceed to the Realtime Parent Portal to either fill out an application otherwise, please indicate that you do not wish to apply at this time. Please note that only ONE (1) application per FAMILY, is required to determine qualification status.
