Greek Week Final Update
85 years ago, Greek Week events were started by George Starr Lasher. Since its inception, students have been continuing the tradition and adapting events in their own way. This year’s Greek Week theme was “Let the Games Begin” and each team was assigned a classic board game or video game. The idea behind this year’s Greek Week was to connect each day to a different value of the community, recognizing scholarship, leadership, service, philanthropy, and brotherhood/sisterhood.
Greek Week officially began on Monday April 15 with a banner competition and Dodgeball tournament at Peden stadium. We then hosted study tables and a trivia night competition. We held an item drive for Cat’s Cupboard and donated over two tons of food and supplies, and of course, held everyone’s favorite event - the Airbands performance. We ended the week through an Amazing Race around campus.
