Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy new year to all of you!
Thank you all so much for bringing your children back to our wonderful school with great holiday stories, some holiday haircuts and lots and lots of huge smiles.
It has been lovely to see all of the children, and colleagues, again after quite a long Christmas break. The children have come back to school calm, thoughtful and focused on learning which is fantastic.
We started our week off with Reverend Chris leading one of our community assemblies. The children came in beautifully and listened attentively to an explanation of epiphany. Thank you Reverend Chris for spending your time with us.
On Tuesday many of the classes, including the teachers and teaching assistants had a zumba taster session. Absolutely everyone who participated enjoyed their time and had a great bit of exercise. There was a touch of sweat on some foreheads but that is a good thing!
On Wednesday in assembly we tried to help our choir out by starting to learn 'Birdhouse in your soul' as this is one of the songs that they will be singing at Young Voices. It is a very tricky song to learn but all of the children had a really good go!
On Thursday Year 6 had a taster netball coaching session.
Then the snow began to fall...
Thank you everyone for making so much effort to come in to school even though the journey from home may be tricky. Attendance at school is so important. If children do not come to school it really does have an impact on their learning. Please do ensure that your child / children come to school each and every day unless they are ill. Many children have 100% attendance record this year. A very big well done to them.
Finally a reminder that if you have an problem, or something to celebrate, concerning your child or children please do go and see your class teacher in the first instance. It is often best to try and make an appointment if there is anything substantial to talk about. If you need to take anything further then please do come and see me. You can always catch me by the gate!
Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!
With respect,
Mr Neil Ringrose
