NOTES FROM DR. LUGO
Hola
I can not believe that we have been in school for almost a month! It has been a month of getting used to a new school for some, meeting new teachers, and making new friends for all. I hope that your children have gone home with great stories of what has been happening in their classrooms. Our teachers are working hard on making sure that your children are learning in a nurturing and rigorous environment. As a staff we believe that all of our students can learn and together we plan lessons that meet their learning styles.
I hope you were able to meet your student's teachers during our Back to School Night. We had a great turn out and look forward to spending time with all of you again soon.
I would like to ask you to be careful when picking up your children during dismissal. Our new bus loop is designed to keep our children safe during arrival and dismissal. If you must pick up your child at the end of the day please make sure that it is at least 15 minutes before dismissal. Parents picking up students less than 15 minutes before dismissal may need to wait until dismissal is over to ensure that all our students are safe. Our parent pick up line is moving very quickly and that will be your quickest and safest way to get your child at the end of the day. Thank you for your understanding and support.
If your child chooses to wear a costume for Halloween we ask you that follow the following guidelines:
- The face may not be covered. The student may not wear a mask or face makeup.
- No toy weapons, canes, bats, shields, etc.
- Costumes must be school appropriate. Students must follow the dress code.
- Costumes may not be distracting.
- The administration may ask a student to remove or cover their costume if necessary.
Please be on the look out for information regarding our first LMS Learning Night of the academic school year. It will be a great evening full of learning and sharing.
Have a great month of October and feel free to reach out with your thoughts on how to make LMS a great place to learn.
Paz,
Dr. Lugo
