Welcome Back!

Dear Warriors,

I am elated to introduce myself, Dr. Evette Shelby-King, as your principal for the 21-22 school year. I hope you all are as eager as the staff and I are to resume school. We are looking forward to opening our doors and greeting each of you August 11, 2021. Our doors will open daily at 8:30 AM to receive our scholars. Our school day begins promptly at 8:55 AM and ends at 4:15 PM daily. Please begin preparing our scholars for their new arrival and dismissal times.

As we prepare to begin welcoming our students back into the classrooms, please be assured that safety will continue to be of utmost importance as well as our instructional program. In order to ensure a strong start to the school year, we need all parents and guardians to complete the annual student update process before August 11, 2021. Just like last year, parents/guardians are required to log into the Spring ISD website www.springisd.org, then click on the MySpringISD portal icon. From within the portal, you’ll be able to log into the Home Access Center to access the annual update.

I also want to share some important dates with you that will assist us with having a smooth opening. Our Warrior Camp will be held August 9 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm for all incoming 6th Graders and for those 7th and 8th graders who are new to Twin Creeks. See our flyers here: Warrior Camp. Campamento de Guerreros.

To ensure our students are empowered and equipped for academic growth and achievement at their highest potential, we need your support. Attached is our school supply list. Yes, students need school supplies to ensure learning is engaging and fun. We know with your support, our scholars will be successful both academically and socially. The dress code is on our website too. Please ensure your students polo style shirts and t-shirts are plain and do not have any logos, pictures, monogramming etc. PE uniforms are required and cost $20 per set (shorts and shirt). Students will have grade level color coded lanyards to properly display their IDs/ZPass. IDs must be properly displayed on the grade level lanyard daily as this is part of our dress code and will be enforced.

To ensure a safe and efficient first day of school, we will have a “drop and go” policy so our scholars may come in and reacclimate themselves into our school. Our Twin Creeks MS (TCMS) FaceBook/Twitter pages will have lots of First Day of School photos posted throughout the day. Please be sure to like our FB and Twitter pages. In addition, we want car rider drop off/pickup to have a smooth entry and exit; therefore, we are asking parents to view the link for our car rider procedures.

Lastly, we are hoping all of our parents will join our PTO, volunteer at least once this school year and help us plan some fun and engaging activities for our students and staff. The cost to join PTO is $10.

I look forward to continuing our partnership in producing productive citizens.

Evette Shelby-King, Ph.D.
