News and Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the Super Bowl. We had a fabulous Catholic Schools Week! Thank you to everyone who attended our various events and participated in the different activities.

This Friday we have no school due to a Teacher Inservice. Enjoy your three day weekend. Next Friday, Friday the 14th, is the last day for students/families who chose half year payments for Pizza Friday. If you want your child(ren) to continue to get pizza from Friday, February 28th until the end of the school year please have your payment in ASAP. One slice every Friday is $28 for the remainder of the year and two slices every Friday are $36. Thank you.

This past Thursday, we held our 2nd annual Geography Fair. The effort that each student put into their projects was amazing. I truly enjoyed hearing their excitement sharing facts about their countries. Thank you to the teachers, especially Mrs. Holodak, and all of you for the hard work you put in to support the students!

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Ms. Kazan

Enrollment for 2019-2020 School Year

Our enrollment/registration process for current families will begin on February 10, 2020.

We will be using the TADS system for enrollment/registration again this year. When you complete the enrollment process for each student, and pay the registration fee, your student will be guaranteed placement for the 2019-2020 school year.

An incentive rate is being offered for those who register on or before April 15, 2019. You must complete this process no later than April 15th to receive the reduced rate of $125 per child . If you register after April 15, it will be $225 per child.

Students in PreK 4 going into Kindergarten may enroll now, as it is considered a new enrollment. The link is: https://mytads.com/a/transfigurationschooltarrytown

Service Update

Thank you for your support of the Loose Change Program for Soyapango. We collected over $1000. I would also like to thank the 8th graders who helped the Twining Club count over $500 worth of coins.

Thank you all for your tremendous support of our "SOUPer Bowl" Food Drive. More than 400 items were collected for St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry at Transfiguration Church.

We received the following note of thanks from Dan Nyarady who helps run the food pantry at Church:

"Wow!!!! What a great job. How do we begin to thank you, the teachers, students, parents, everyone who helped. It will help a lot of people. Thank you. Be assured every can will find its way to someone less fortunate than us. Thank you again and please pass our thanks on to all."

Growth Mindset Thought of the Week

This activity is a great conversation starter. Work with your child to come up with growth mindset phrases instead of the fixed mindset ones.
