Room 126A
Weekly Update #1
Great To Meet Ya'!
I know there are some parents I didn't get a chance to talk to in person; if you have any outstanding questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at taye.maddison@tdsb.on.ca.
Cubbies and Backpacks
Also, as the weather is getting wetter, we do need indoor running shoes that can stay at school. Again, if they are sent in your child's Zippie, we can help put them away.
Please make sure any belongings that are coming to school are clearly labeled with your child's name. We will do our best to ensure that everything is being returned to the correct home. If however, something does go missing, both classes in room 126 have a lost and found located near our outside door.
Finally, our routines are getting settled, and students will begin to bring home more and more materials from school. To make things easier for your child, please ensure that they have a full-sized school backpack. Also, as you are getting your child ready for school in the morning, please make sure their Zippie is packed in such a way that will make it easy for your child to get it out of their bag (ie/ on the top of the big section, or in a front pocket). Some students are finding it difficult to find their Zippies when they are tucked under lunch bags and jackets.

Weekly Walk
We will begin our walk immediately after lunch. Hillside Garden walks, generally take about 45 minutes.
If you are available to help supervise our walk, please let me know via email.
A Few Things We Forgot To Mention:
Keeping Each Other Healthy
If your child does get sick, please keep them home. This is especially important this year because we are in such close quarters with Ms Visconti's class. We can also help to protect her class and a student who is undergoing treatment for leukemia.
Thank you for your support and understanding in this area.
If your child is going to be away, please remember to call the Safe Arrival system at 416-393-9060. Remember to include your child's full name (please spell their last name), their classroom and teacher's name, the reason for your child's absence, and how long they will be away.
Playground Safety
1. Slides are for going down, not up and we should always be sitting on the slide (not on our bellies or feet).
2. One person at a time on each slide.
3. Monkey bars are for students in grade 1 and up, not for kindergarten students.
4. Wood chips stay on the ground.
5. Tag can be played on the ground only, not on the climber.
Also, to protect little children, we ask that only the kindergarten students play on the equipment during school hours which begin when the duty staff come outside.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Please remember to return Poetry Folders and Zippies on Monday :)
Have a great weekend!
