On the Docket
Monday, April 6, 2020
- The building can be open if you need it. If you would like to come to DGS, please email Mandy. I will determine hours by the number of people that need to come in.
- Virtual Book Fair Begins. Information is listed below. Please share this information in your communications with families as well. Since we are not having the in school book fair this year, we will want to make sure we still generate funds to support some of the reading programming (Birthday books, classroom books, library books, ect). This is also a great opportunity for parents to order books to get through the next several weeks of Instructional Remote Learning.
The Curriculum Department will be hosting OPTIONAL district grade-level team meetings for those who may have a question as it relates to remote learning, and offer an opportunity for teachers to share ideas and talk through the use of various resources. A combination of two members of the Curriculum Department (Natalie Lanser, Stefanie Pitzer, Stefanie Crawford, Jodi Gordon, Amy Stefanski and me) will be in each scheduled session.
The sessions will be available again on Monday. The links to these sessions can be found on the "All-Things Remote Learning" hyperdoc under "Team Meeting Schedules."
Tuesday, April 7, 2020
- I will be doing a BIST Virtual admin training in the morning. Please be patient if I cannot answer emails immediately.
- School Holiday. There are no expectations for you to complete office hours or plan time today or on Monday.
- Happy Birthday Michelle Weiss!
- Virtual Happy Hour hosted by Michelle at 2:30pm on Zoom
- We will not have a scheduled staff Zoom since it is a holiday. Plan on having one next week!

Positive Office Referrals
We are still celebrating positive office referrals.
You are welcome to celebrate the successes of students at any point this year. You can do so by filling out this FORM or by simply sending me an email that details they're specific success or positive behavior. They will get to ring the bell, sign the wall and have a selfie taken to be displayed outside the office. In most cases, I also call home to share the good news with their parents.
Maintenance Requests
This helps George, Nancy, and Tom Grimm track building and district requests.
You can ask verbally for a request, but also be sure to send the email. It can be as simple as "Please move desk to stage in my classroom" or "Air Conditioning is leaking."
