School Starts Remotely on Tuesday!
The first day of school for all students begins on Tuesday, September 8, at 9 a.m.
Thank you to the 70 families who joined Mrs. Gee and me this morning for our Virtual Coffee with the Simmons Principals! We enjoyed sharing information about the upcoming school year with you. Many great questions were asked and we appreciate knowing what concerns you have as we approach the start of the school year. We're hosting another Virtual Coffee today at 5 p.m. The information can be found below for how to join the Zoom meeting.
We understand that this school year offers unique challenges and opportunities. The teachers and staff at Simmons Elementary are ready to support each child and family as we navigate these uncertain times.
Sincerely,
Karen Kanter, Principal

Meet and Greet Your Child's Teacher
1. Following the schedule below, all vehicles should proceed to the location listed beside your grade level. All family members must remain in their vehicles. Homeroom teachers will be present during the distribution times, so you may bring your child in the car so they can wave and greet their teacher!
2. Families or their designees should create a sign that can be placed in their front windshield and easily read from a distance. The sign should list the first and last name of their child, as well as the name of their child’s homeroom teacher.
3. Once arriving at their assigned location, they should open the trunk. Staff members will place the selected items as part of the remote learning toolkit in the trunk. Vehicles will then pull forward to make way for the next family.
**Please note that certain items from the toolkit like textbooks and math manipulatives must be returned at the end of the school year. Materials like workbooks that students can write in should not be returned.
