A word from Mr Broom

Our first week back after the break has been an exciting one. Several of our children took part in the North of England Schools Cross-Country Finals on Tuesday and did very well in terrible conditions. Thank you to the staff who worked so hard with these children.

Our governors met with myself on Wednesday evening for our monthly meeting. We also discussed the new proposals for the building works which are due to start in July 2020. The new schedule of works has been released and I'll have more information on how it will impact on us all in a few weeks.

This afternoon, we welcome Richard Coy and Nick Sheppard, two of the STARMAT trustees. They will be taking a tour of school and meeting staff before meeting with myself to discuss the future of our school. We look forward to their visit.

Next week is our parent consultations week and I'm looking forward to seeing you all in school on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. We also welcome Miss Nunn back to school as she comes to complete her final teaching practices as a student teacher with Miss Ball.

Have a lovely weekend and hopefully the weather will be better.

British Values - A Weekly Focus

Part of our curriculum at Sherburn Hungate focusses on what are known as the core principles of British Values. These are the personal skills and traits that define what it means to be a successful British citizen. Each week we will focus on a different value. Here's the timetable for the next few weeks:

Staff Shout Outs - If our team do a great job, let us know.

Registering Interest for Nursery Places

If you will be considering nursery provision for your younger children in the future please let us know. We review our nursery provision regularly and information on predicted numbers is essential to help with planning. Those on the register are also welcome to come along to the monthly stay and play sessions to meet other families with young children and our local childminders.
