When I reflect on October and November at Precious Lambs, the repeating theme is "blessed"! We have been so blessed with all of YOU, our Precious Lambs families! We are all so thankful for all of your involvement this fall - from attending School Spirit Day, to visiting as a fireman and veterans. You purchased books from our book fair, which allowed us about 100 free, new books to read to the children at school, and you donated to the Food Drive, which provided hundreds of meals to NC families. You participated in our Trunk or Treat and Thanksgiving Program and Feast, which was so special! Thank you all!
We are also so blessed with health, happiness, faith and forgiveness from our loving God. Thanks be to God from whom all blessings flow! Now, let us go with joy and peace into this Christmas season.

Fire Truck Visit
One of our favorite moments was having Whitt's dad bring the fire truck to Precious Lambs. The kids had a ball actually climbing into the fire truck to see what it was like inside!
Trunk or Treat & Fall Fun
We had so much fun dressing up (and seeing the kid's costumes), and using pumpkins to do fall baking projects and carve jack-o-lanterns.
"Give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good!"
The Thanksgiving Program and Feast was a blast. We were especially proud of the children, singing thanks and praises to our God!

A Word from our Teachers

PreK4 Green Lambs The months of October and November found us learning about Fall things: trees, pumpkins, and apples. We were also hard at work preparing for PLELC's annual Thanksgiving Program and Feast, which was held November 20. The children worked very diligently to present 3 songs to their families - one about the very first Thanksgiving, one about giving thanks to God, and one in which they played bells and used sign language to share the message of "Jesus Loves Me"! We are now excited to begin our countdown to Jesus' birthday, and we will be busy preparing for our Children's Christmas Service on Dec. 20.
We hope you had a most blessed Thanksgiving!

One precious moment happened when one of the children said, "My mommy
eats the fastest in my family!" Another student said, "How Fast?" The first student replied, "Like 100 miles." :)

Learning in "Specials" at Precious Lambs!
Fall Science has been filled with noticing the differences and similarities in leaves, watching pincones expand (see pic) cranberry playdough, magic milk and discussion of the Parade Balloons that the kids can't stop talking about!
We are reading to the children in order to increase their experiential background. In addition, we are emphasizing concepts about print such as left to right progression. We are doing this in an effort to cement the mechanics of reading. These basic concepts are necessary before "reading" can take place.
We first learned several signs for basic communication, then the signs for "Jesus Loves Me," and we are learning the signs for colors and animals, so the children will be able to sign the book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?"
We have been experiencing playing music as part of a large group as we use our handbells, and we are working hard to get ready for our special Christmas Program!
We have been working on learning and using basic greetings with each other, naming parts of the body, colors and numbers. The kids especially loved singing"Cabeza, Hombros, Rodillas, Pies"!
Most recently, the children have been enjoying our topics about autumn, thanksgiving, and hibernation. One child commented, "I can't wait to read hibernation facts to mommy!"
