Contacting J/J During the School Interruption
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Thank you for all that you continue to do to support your student’s remote learning experiences. We appreciate the remote partnership and dedication. As health guidelines continue to evolve and shift towards the future, planning for the closing of this year and preparations for next year will evolve accordingly. The high school “senior belongings pickup” and Robinson workbook distributions will serve as additional models for us, as we plan for a student belonging distribution process here at Jordan/Jackson. We are looking forward to continuing to work through plans for what will certainly be a fun but very emotional “goodbye” to students next month.
As the current versions of grade-level remote learning plans evolve, we have been gathering school-wide data to guide us in our planning for next year’s academic pacing, intervention and student support planning. Clearly that will evolve as we move through each phase of public health guidance.
We are excited about the continued evolution of each grade level’s current remote learning plans:
The Third-Grade Staff is very happy about the student enthusiasm for the Virtual Field Trip Fridays! Next week, the students will see a shift in focus to Geometry in Math.
The Fourth-Grade Staff loved seeing the participation and engagement in this week’s science Pear Deck activity about Light Energy. Next week, the students will explore the Western Region of the United States.
The Fifth-Grade Staff is very excited about the students’ efforts and collaboration with the book The Elephant. Next week, students should look forward to seeing some teacher read-alouds.
Lastly, I’d like to say that it’s been great to see your visual and performing arts talent! Our specialists are enjoying the many projects that students have created using various mediums from home. Keep up the participation with Art, Music, Physical Education, and Health.
Take care and stay healthy,
John Nieratko

A Note from C.H.A.M P.S.
In order to give families time to prepare for childcare for the upcoming school year, we would like to let you know the C.H.A.M.P.S. program for the 2020-2021 school year is full. After registering current families and their siblings, we had limited openings available. We currently have a waiting list; however, with turnovers being very rare, we will not be accepting any more names for our waiting list at this time.
