Fan Pledge
This year are focusing on our FanPledge fundraiser to help us offer the best possible band experience for our students at Wakeland. We want to give them more opportunities to be competitive by bringing in clinicians, designers, and other master teachers.
These students deserve the best that Frisco has to offer and our goal is to set that standard. But with that, we need your help. We are starting this fundraiser very quickly to get out during our competitive season so our families, friends, donors can see us in action and watch our students at their personal best.
Our goals for this fundraiser are to help our students by:
- Lowering band registration fees for Winter season and future marching seasons
- Bringing in world-class clinicians to help all students
- Continue interior truck design and layout
- Focus on enhancing the overall experience
- Trip Costs
Our visions for this program are centered around the students and how we can all raise the bar and expectations of those around us.
If a patron would like to donate but not participate in the event, they may donate via PayPal on our homepage (www.wakelandband.org) or check (WHS BBA).
All students are required to attend our telethon event. If a family or parent does not want their student participating, please email Mr. Smith to let him know you will be in attendance but not participating.

HEB DRUMLINE CLINIC CONTEST RECAP
Excellent Job on Saturday at our first Drumline Contest of the year!
Each of you represented Wakeland High School in a positive way both in how you performed and how you conducted yourselves in the stands.
A big thank you to all of our volunteers for helping us get on and off the field, for making certain we had enough food/water, and for cheering us on in the stands! We could not function at this level without you!
MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND NIGHT
This Friday is Middle School Band Night at Memorial Stadium. We will be performing our show for both middle schools and after they will join us on the field to perform “Land of 1000 Dances”, “Hey Song”, and the “WHS Fight Song”.
After the mass performance students will participate in a social where they will have the opportunity to interact with the middle school students and answer any questions they may have about band or high school directly.

Wakeland Color Guard
Congratulations on another outstanding performance this past Thursday! They handled our first (indoor) performance without the met like professionals. My appreciation goes out to our cast for the long week they had, and for their time and dedication to the marching season. Another "thank you!" goes out to our parent volunteers at pictures, Thursday night, and the Homecoming Dance!
Grades for the first Six-Week grading period are submitted by 4:30pm this Friday, September 21st.
The Middle School Night performance is crucial leading into our first competition. Students are fed their meal at 4:15pm, and they will follow a standard "football game" itinerary - they will need to take their backpacks to the performance (please see next highlight). We will depart to Memorial Stadium where we will operate on a "contest flow" schedule: Warm-Up location, Timed Warm-Up, Walk to Gate, Performance Standby, Timed On-Field Setup, Timed Performance, Time Field Tear Down, Field Exit. The performance will begin at 7:30pm. Students will need to be picked up from Memorial Stadium - buses will not return to WHS.
Frisco ISD Band Night
On, October 2, 2018, all ten Frisco ISD bands will present their competition marching shows at the third annual Frisco ISD Marching Band Showcase presented by AAA Texas.
