Homework - January 18-22

Reading – at least 30 minutes nightly - initial in the box each day your child reads for at least 30 minutes. Also, remember to have them fillout their reading log for the Million Minutes.

Math – January Math Book - Days 11-15 - please take time to go over the questions with your child. It is so important that they are completing the questions correctly.

Spelling - Study words and complete 2 spelling activities

High Frequency Words - practice reading the 1st and 2nd 100 Words and spelling the 3rd 25 of the 1st 100.

Fluency Passage - Read the fluency passage 3 times. Remember to read it once and then time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for a 2nd time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for the 3rd time for one minute. Your child should be reading close to 90 words a minute.


Below you will find some great questions to ask your child after they have read a book. The first one is for a Fiction text and the second one is for Non Fiction text. It is so important that your child understands what they are reading. Please take time to ask them some questions after they have finished their reading homework.

Rasor reached the goal of reading One Million Minutes. Mr. Pruett has agreed to become a human ice cream sundae. Date to be announced. Thank you for taking time make sure your child was reading. Now that we have reached the goal, please do not stop reading every night.
