10th Grade World History - How can learning history help us see deeper meanings in pop culture and vice versa?

Students researched a real Samurai Warrior from Japanese history and a pop culture figure inspired by Samurai. They wrote a haiku and an essay describing both the real warrior, the fictional character, how history can help us find deeper meanings in pop culture, and how pop culture can help us better understand history through modern cultural perspectives.

🎼Winter Concert- Thursday, January 12th

"The evening will include K-5th grade performers as well as Comet Chorale. The concert starts at 6:30- please drop your child off in their classroom at 6:00, so we can get lined up, organized, and down to our spots in the new gym. The concert will be finished by 7:15-7:30. After the a grade performs, they will sit as a class near the risers and watch the other kids perform. This gives our students the important practice of being respectful, quiet, and attentive audience members while we support our friends as they perform." - A. Suttmann

New Cafeteria Renovation

The cafeteria serving area has been renovated as a result of functional needs identified last school year! The renovation brings back food warmers, refrigerators that work and TWO checkout computers. Shawna is also welcoming a second cashier to move the lines along more quickly. We are so happy!

Attention Hot Lunch Students:

We would like to reduce waste as much as possible in the cafeteria. If you do not open an item on your tray, please make sure and place it in one of the "share bowls" located in the cafeteria! If you need a snack for later in the day, or are still hungry after you ate your lunch, please help yourself to items in the bowl. One bowl is located in the front of the cafe, by the dirty dish window. The other is located in the back of the cafeteria on the dirty tray cart. Thank you for helping us recycle, reuse, and reduce the garbage!
