Math Weekly Update
Week of 5/4-5/8
Math 7- Greenberg, Haddock, and Porter
This week in Math 7 we are starting to review past concepts from the year. Students will work with various activities (IXL, Khan,Quizizz, etc.) to practice.
Math 7- Slaughter
Last week students worked on Probability on IXL. This week students will continue reviewing content learned in the first semester; students will work on 7th-grade (Percents L’s) on IXL.
Math 8- Greenberg
This week in Math 8 we are starting to review past concepts from the year. Students will work with various activities (IXL, Khan,Quizizz, etc.) to practice.
Math 8- Hill & Hobold
Students will continue their study of Volume this week. Students will start finding the volume of cones, and should expect exit slips every day for us to “check in” on their progress, except on Thursday, May 14th, when they have a Target Check.
Math 8- Taylor
Math 8th is covering Systems of Equations, Slope, Exponents, Scientific Notation, Functions, Equations, Pythagoras, Angles (2-Dimensional Shapes), Data and Graphs, and Statistics based upon the students learning profile in class. I have placed notes in Google Classroom for each unit for all students. I want to thank you guys for working hard on your current units for Math.
Algebra- Haddock & Porter
We are going to continue working on Chapter 10:Radical Expressions and Equations. This week we are focusing on Radical Expressions. Students will use the online textbook, Khan Academy, and IXL to practice skills. They will take a formative on PearsonREalize.
Algebra- Hobold
We are going to continue our study of radical expressions and equations by focusing on adding and subtracting radical expressions. Students should expect a quiz on Thursday, May 14th.
Algebra- Taylor
We are going to finish the Quadratics Unit next week and start a new unit called Radical Expressions. Some students will start the Rational Functions and Expression unit. I will place notes in Google Classroom for the new unit. I want to thank you guys for working hard on your units for Algebra class.
Geometry-Hill
We will quiz on Surface Area May 12. We will then learn how to find the volume of a prism and a cylinder.
